On November 1st, the Mediterranean Recreation Centre came alive with the much-anticipated Sports Fiesta, a vibrant gathering of fitness enthusiasts, athletes and gym communities from across Abuja. The event delivered an unforgettable day of energy, excitement, and spirited competition.
More than just a contest, the Sports Fiesta was a celebration of wellness and togetherness, inspiring participants to challenge their limits, celebrate their strengths and embrace the power of community.
Across the venue, every sport brought its own thrill. The football pitch buzzed with teamwork and precision play, while volleyball thrilled spectators with powerful spikes and quick reflexes. Basketball lit up the court with high-energy drives and sharp shooting. Badminton and lawn tennis combined speed and strategy in intense matchups. The weightlifting arena displayed raw strength through deadlifts, bench presses and squats. Runners and sprinters tested their endurance and speed, the cardio challenge pushed limits even further, and the sack and egg races brought laughter, joy and a playful spirit to the day.
The Sports Fiesta was a city wide celebration. Gyms from all across Abuja participated, bringing together athletes of different levels and disciplines. Among the standout participants were iFitness, BodyLine Fitness and Gym, Best Body Gym AMAC, Eco Fitness Hub, MaxFit Gym and many more. The result was a powerful sense of unity. Everyone played their part in creating an event that truly represented the spirit of fitness in Abuja.
The event reached its peak when the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, arrived to show his support. His presence added prestige and motivation to the occasion as he personally presented medals to the winners, celebrating their hard work and dedication.
